Sarwihawti, 85 years old from Kolkata has been in Vrindavan for 25 years. She told us her family don't care for her, her son threw her out after her husbands death to go to Vrindavan and get Baksheesh (beg for alms, donations). In a recent report to the Supreme Court of India, the National Council of Women recommended fixing of liability on the children under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
